Our season closes with music from the sensational, late Renaissance manuscripts recently discovered in Pesaro. This large collection of more than 300 previously unknown works comes from the greatest Roman lutenists of the 1580s and 1590s, Lorenzino Tracetti and the Knight of the Lute (Il Cavaliere del Liuto). The music of these former Roman rock stars will be performed for the first time in New York by the greatest lutenist of our time, Paul O’Dette, in a most fitting celebration for his triumphant return to Music Before 1800.
